With Style Me Pretty’s feature of Dave and Stefani’s elegant Edwardian wedding today, I’m thrilled to finally be able to share their wedding as well!

Their day was beautiful perfection. Each and every detail was lovingly and creatively crafted by the bride and her maid of honor sister, Jaclyn, owner of 6 Pence Event Planning and Design. Stefani’s vision for the day was an elegant, southern feel, and guests were treated to nothing but the best as they celebrated Dave and Stefani’s I do’s.

Their vows were said under the late summer sun in the garden of the Kirkland House. Following the ceremony were lawn games and cocktails, while we took advantage of the stunning property for photos – something truly valued by Dave and Stefani, making them my kind of couple! The real party kicked off in the Harris Barn, also on the property, lit by strings of cafe lights and adorned by the prettiest florals you ever did see, by Floralista.

I could go on about the beauty of Dave and Stefani’s wedding day, but I’ll let the photos do the talking…I’ll just say thank you from the bottom of my heart to the newly married Mr and Mrs Holmes. It was such an honor to be your wedding photographer!

Something old, something new…and a six pence in her shoe…

Loved working with these ladies!

While the girls got ready in the house, the guys got cleaned up in the barn’s loft…

A special request was made for a formal wedding party portrait and I happily obliged…

This couple, in this setting, with this light…I could have photographed them all day long. I mean, look at her!

I’ve been photographing this family since there was just two of them, Ashley and Ryan, expecting their first. Last week we had our third newborn session together and with that many little ones now in the mix, it was our best yet. The more babies, the more love. The louder, the sweeter, the more fun. Sawyer Graham has been born into a pretty great home, and older siblings Lincoln and Ivy are pretty proud of their little brother.

Many thanks, King family, for allowing me to follow along and document your family’s growth and love!

PS: are you a bride looking for a makeup artist? Ashley is one of the best (she was mine when I got married!), so give her a ring!

I’m already looking back on our Montreal trip wistfully. It was quick – just two nights – but there was something about those couple days we had to wander about the city. Perhaps it was our small window of reclaimed freedom! Zaya stayed at home with Grandma and Grandpa, and as tough as it was to leave him, it was worth it to have those days just for the two of us. And really, I’m sure Zaya was much happier! I don’t think he would have enjoyed our 7:40am (eastern time, of course) appointment at the US Consulate – our reason for going.

The final step in my green card process was an interview and I’m thankful to stay it was a success! I received my approval right then and there, wrapping up our two year wait (which was only supposed to take nine months!). Another couple of weeks and my visa will be activated, making me an official resident of the United States. I will also be expanding my business to this side of the border, so Washington State brides (and beyond!), I’d love to hear from you!

With the rest of our time in Montreal, we set out to explore and eat (the best sandwiches at Olive & Gourmando) and drink good coffee (Lili & Oli with thanks to friend Jamie Delaine for the recommendation!). I had packed along my camera for the trip but when it came time to walk the city, I made a last minute decision to leave it in the hotel room…and simply take my iPhone. My pictures may be of less quality but it was pretty nice to travel so light.
