Trent and Jade may have been married on the hottest day of the year (so far) and yet photographing these two made me forget about the heat, forget that I was carrying around a near full-term baby. Photographing these two and their love and their union of marriage was more than a treat.

The day began at Cultus Lake where Trent popped the question to Jade on a dock at Christmas. It was on that same dock that they shared their first look, a sweet moment that was witnessed by perhaps a few more people than their proposal, as the lake was brimming with boats and sun bathers. For that reason we didn’t stay too long, but headed towards the venue in Abbotsford. With the forecast in mind I had scouted out a couple shaded locations for photos to ensure a happy wedding party ;) Speaking of which, many thanks to Trent and Jade’s wedding party for being so fun and so wonderful to work with!

The ceremony and reception were held at the lovely Triple Swaan Nursery, a beautiful spot tucked away in the country between the mountains and the river. Under a weeping willow tree Trent and Jade said their I do’s, and the tears couldn’t be stopped from falling down Jade’s cheeks…and it made the ceremony, officiated by Trent’s uncle, all the sweeter.

To the newly married Mr & Mrs Harms, thank you. I loved getting to share in your joy and your family’s joy as you two became husband and wife. Thank you so much for having me as your wedding photographer and I wish you two nothing but the best!

Oh my goodness that tree is so amazing!! Was it a challenge to shoot under that canopy with the sun filtering through and creating strange shadows? Your photos turned out beautifully!ReplyCancel

Seven years Jeff and Paula have been together. He sealed their love and lives last Christmas at a tree farm by proposing…tucked a little box containing a gorgeous sparkler in a tree and told Paula to check it out. Fearing it was something like a dead animal, she refused to go near the tree. After some insisting by what she says was a giddy Jeff, she looked and was amazed by what she saw. Now, these two are planning an October wedding at the stunning Fraser River Lodge and I couldn’t be more excited to document it.

We met up the other evening at their home for their engagement session, weather warm and sun shining. Nearby lies a forest where much of their free time is spent walking the trails with their lovingly called fur kids, which gave us the perfect backdrop for these photos.

Many thanks, Jeff and Paula, for wonderful evening. Can’t wait to see what your wedding day has in store!

What do you get when you take eight little ones and three talented local vendors who hand make children’s goods? Great style and a whole lot of sweetness…

Last week I had the pleasure of working with From the SeedsCarmen West Creative and Minimoc on a collaborative shoot featuring their handmade items. Our little models were outfitted in Minimoc moccasins, fringe ‘Boho’ dresses and leggings from Carmen West Creative, and were given From the Seeds ‘lovey bunnies’ and wooden toy cameras to play with. Not to mention the sweet headbands and bow ties from both Minimoc and Carmen West.

We spent the morning playing dress up, picking wildflowers and chasing after these littles and had so much fun. I’m so smitten with these products, I can’t wait to treat my own little one! I already have the Instagram inspired wooden camera and a lovey bunny tucked away for him or her.

Shop the vendor’s online shops or visit Spruce Collective in downtown Abbotsford where you can find all three :)

Many thanks to the moms who came out and let us document these sweet faces…
