It’s a lovely thing to have good friends in the same industry. Especially ones who are also mamas of little boys! I was introduced to Julie’s work through a mutual friend and booked her to photograph our new, little family last Fall. At the same time, I asked her to second shoot a few weddings with me and it was so much fun working with her. We became fast friends…I mean, you kind of have to when you’re pumping side by side in the car on a wedding day, with breastfeeding babies back at home.

Recently we met up to swap head shots. It had been nearly two years since I last updated mine and I was due! And rather than find sitters for our boys, we packed them along to hang out together in their strollers while their mamas worked. I knew we might be a little crazy for doing so, but the shoot was a success! Not that I’ll be bringing Isaiah to an engagement shoot anytime soon, though…

Here are a few photos, taken by Julie and edited by me. Thank you so much, Julie! Here’s to more play dates and photo shoots together.

And my favorite photos from our shoot – the ones with my Zaya baby

Say hello to sweet baby girl Liv. She was born into a family I’ve been lucky enough to come to know over the past few years, photographing them as they’ve grown now to a family of four. Liv is little sister to Grei and oh does he love her already. I got to spend some time with them this past weekend at their new home and document this special time as they get to know their little girl.

Many thanks and congratulations, Mike and Kerri!

Somehow two months slipped by without a blog post, I’m ashamed to see. This wedding photographer’s slow season has been unlike previous years, as a certain little someone has been occupying my time. It has slipped by in a blur of restless nights and endless coffee, teething and snuggles and as of late, crawling. We are those parents who glow with pride when our child so much as finds his own toes, so crawling = big deal. And a major source of distraction. Then again, Zaya has always been that!

We’ve also spent these last few months hoping to hear of the final step in my US immigration process and…good news! An interview in Montreal next month awaits. Knowing we are near the end of this two year journey is a little unbelievable. Soon we’ll get to really settle into our new house and call it home and not only that, but I’ll be able to take bookings in the US! So bring on this new season; one of fresh starts, more weddings, more love.
