chilliwack farm engagement: tyler & cassandra

It was a starry night on a warm beach, the waves lapping at the sand. It was Christmas in Mexico with Cassandra’s family, and Tyler had finally managed to sneak Cassandra away for an evening. They watched the stars and listened to the waves and when Cassandra got up to leave, Tyler said her name. She turned, and there he was on bended knee in the sand. Not wanting to travel with a flashy diamond ring, he held out a cheap plastic version, but when the love of your life is asking you to marry him under a star filled sky on a beach…the difference between diamond and plastic becomes blurred and erased with a yes!

For their engagement session, I met up with Cassandra and Tyler at her parents’ farm along Chilliwack River, where they will become husband and wife next summer. After a glorious, sunny start to our autumn, the rain decided to arrive on the day of their shoot, and fell non-stop…except for about an hour, while we took these photos…

It was important to Cassandra that we capture the fall colours at the farm for their photos and I think we timed it just right…

Tyler is currently studying in Portland, Oregon so the time they get to spend together is limited…
he made a special trip up for this session, so I think Cassandra was extra happy to see him and have him all to herself…

Some of my favourites…

I’m searching for an original way to say thank you but I’m at a loss so Cassandra and Tyler…thank you….I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be your wedding photographer and look forward to documenting your I do’s next summer :)
