bowen island wedding: ian & ally

Ian and Ally are some of the kindest people you’ll meet. She’ll wrap you in a hug and have you laughing and feeling like friends in no time. So it was with great joy that we documented their wedding this past weekend at Ian’s family property on Bowen Island. An intimate celebration with under fifty guests, the day unfolded beautifully with details of lace and lavender (smelled amazing!) and views of the ocean and boats passing by. Their ceremony was simple and heartfelt, as loved ones gathered around Ally and Ian on a lakeside beach. Ally looked perfectly lovely in a flowing Ellebay gown and hairpiece of glitz and feathers. I love that Ian and Ally get just as excited as I do over rustic charm and character, so we had a great time during our portrait session exploring what Bowen had to offer. To cap off the day, there was a reception under strings of white lights and a family style dinner.

To the newlyweds, I can’t thank you enough for the honor of being your wedding photographer! Your family was wonderful and you all made us feel so welcome. Enjoy your time away in Tofino and happy celebrating this next weekend too!
