An engagement session is typically the first time a couple will have been in front of my camera. So really, no one knows what to expect. But here’s the thing about my couples: they have an ease, a chemistry, a love so great and real and I love that they share it with me and my camera. The way he makes her laugh, the way she makes him smile. Olga and Len had this and more.
During the short time we were together on a most perfect, Vancouver summer evening, it felt as though we’d known each other awhile. Olga and Len are both graphic design artists, and we talked about books vs kindles, Paris and passion for your job. Len asked me, point blank, if I still got excited. Or is it just another photo shoot? Without hesitation I exclaimed yes! Each session is new and different – the light, the location, the couple. I always get excited, you’ll see me get excited.
Olga and Len, I’m incredibly grateful and incredibly excited to document your wedding next month! If our time together is any indication, I know that wonderful things are ahead.

Olga and Len chose Stanley Park for their engagement session as it holds many memories from when they first began dating…like celebrating her birthday on this very beach, on a chilly evening in June, with japadogs and a handmade book from Len.

Ah that delicious Vancouver sun is to die for…and beautiful images too!
pretty!
Stunning! What a beautiful couple and such pretty light! I love all of the shots but especially like how you paired the cinderblock wall against all of the greenery. Awesome. And I don’t know this couple but am a Graphic Desinger too! Small world :)
I love all of these. I’m glad you still get excited – I still get excited everytime I check your blog.
I absolutely love this session! You so wonderfully combined all these great locations, and they are so incredibly sweet.
Seriously, these pics belong in a magazine to advertise nice clothes in a beachy location… well done, Micaela. They look great.
These are all beautiful! I love the light!
