rowena’s inn on the river wedding: stephanie & marcus

She was the picture of a perfect bride, relaxed yet excited and enjoying every moment as she got ready with her bridesmaids and matron of honor upstairs at Rowena’s Inn on the River. Amongst the flurry of laughter and activity many a girl’s dream, in the form of a little blue box, appeared as a thoughtful gift from her groom. Meanwhile, out on the lawn preparations were under way for a most beautifully detailed, inspired and handcrafted-with-love wedding & reception.

The story of Stephanie and Marcus began with a proud mother pressing the business card of her son into the hands of Stephanie’s skeptical and already engaged friend. Being the good friend that she was, she passed Marcus onto Stephanie…who reluctantly agreed to a blind date. It took a few more dates and the influence of a few others, but over time it was with a little help from their friends that Stephanie and Marcus came to be. These friends earned the titles of matron of honor & best man, by the way. Fast forward a couple years and it was with much help from friends and family that their wedding grew from Stephanie’s dreams into the stunning and celebrative event that it was.

Stephanie and Marcus, I had been eagerly anticipating your wedding since your engagement session last summer, and to document your I do’s was a privilege. From the warm welcome by your families to the way you share your warmth and your love with those around you, thank you. May the sun shine for you in Maui on your honeymoon! Congrats!

And here are a few reasons to love First Looks…

Marcus and best man Dustin are the men behind, which explains why the guys were looking extra polished…

All of the breathtaking florals were lovingly arranged by a close family friend, and the cupcakes were made by the bride’s own mother!

Just before the first dance, we snuck off for a few sunset photos…and Stephanie, you’re gorgeous.

Wow, Mikaela… you are so lucky that you got to shoot this wedding (and you did a great job by the way).

All the details they put into the day were incredible. I loved the card table with the bird cage and flower arrangements. Also, the cupcakes and lollipops with all different kinds and amounts of sprinkles on them… details details. Not so matchy-matchy, which is a good thing in this case because it made things look really unique, but still classy with a great venue.

ps- thanks for sharing the link to Launch… totally want to check it out for Andrew when we’re in Abby this Christmas. Would love to meet you in person then too, come to think of it.ReplyCancel

I love your wedding pictures, you had a amazing day!
I’m getting married at Rowena’s this year – at Christmas time on the 21th.
I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions. Who/how did you have your cake delivered? Did they make it for you there? What about hair/makeup, were you able to find someone to come out to the venue to do it for you?
We all going out on the Friday, getting married on the Saturday, spending a second night and everyone is heading home on the Sunday.
I’m having a heck of a time finding a florist, bakery and hair/makeup that will go ‘all the way’ out to Harrison Mills.

Any tips, or advice you could give me, that would be wonderful!
    Thank you for your time,
