As we found ourselves at WPPI again this past week I thought of last year, and I thought of a certain argument that Shane and I had. We left the convention and walked in the sunshine, avoiding the cool of the shade, and talked of my photography business and ways in which it could grow. Shane wanted to dream big, set high goals for me and what is now our business. He presented these crazy ideas and my lack of confidence said no way, that could never happen. I made the mistake of not trusting his belief in me. He asked if I would allow him to dream big for me – and believe in those dreams – if I couldn’t do it for myself.
The thing is, those dreams are kind of coming true.
Like today for example. We find ourselves en route to the Virgin Islands to photograph the wedding of Patrick and Chaundra…we’ll document their week with friends and family vacationing together, which will culminate in a celebration of their marriage next Friday.
Honored, blessed, excited, grateful. For this opportunity which promises to be fun and unforgettable, and to have a husband who likes to dream big.

Awesome!!!! Now that’s what I call dreaming BIG!
Glad Shane dreams big, more glad that the dreams are attainable! Enjoy the Virgin Islands and the opportunity to do what you love with who you love!
I feel this way so often. My soon to be husband is much like Shane in that he too wants me to push myself higher and farther. I have yet to leave my full time desk job to jump into my photo business fully because of my lack of confidence. This post makes me think that maybe soon I could be able to dream this big!
You’re far too good at what you do, to be limiting yourself!
Awesome! I can’t wait to see the photos from this wedding, LOVE your work <3
I have been following your blog for almost a year now. I have read every story that you posted. And to read that your dreams is slowly coming to reality is amazing! You have definitely gone a long way and has been my inspiration.
I guess it’s a true testament that it is OK to dream big as long as you work for it..:)
