Las Vegas. Our ‘Jack and Jill Stag’. With good friends, excellent food, sunshine, successful shopping, a polaroid scavenger hunt, and can’t forget the embarrassing outfits for the groom.
It wasn’t a typical Vegas Stag (we ran into several of those) and for that I’m most happy. We went with a fun, classy group of people who we are so fortunate to call friends. Well, I think Shane still calls his guys friends after the two ridiculous outfits they dressed him in…first, the speedo and second, the female flight attendant (for those who don’t know, Shane works for Westjet) complete with blonde wig, dress and black heels. Oh how we cringed, but he was such a good sport!
Highlight of the weekend definitely had to be the polaroid scavenger hunt! It was guys vs girls, covered the entire Vegas strip, and we were allowed 3.5 hours to document as many items from the list as possible. I didn’t think I was a very competitive person until this particular event…I didn’t think Shane was a very competitive person until now, either. Good thing we usually play on the same team ;) I swear the hand made veil created by my sister had super powers, we were off and running like never before! Dodging pedestrians and cars with bystander shouts of “runaway bride!”, “go get ’em, girls!”, and “don’t do it!” A lady even tried to give me her attorney sister’s card for “when you need it!” I preferred the congratulations.
It’s true, in the end the boys won (by thismuch) but I’m sure us girls had more fun ;)
To those who came, who celebrated, who contributed, who planned, who were there in ‘spirit’…thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! We are so grateful to each of you. Now back to wedding planning :)
