Our Wedding Photographer!

I knew the biggest decision when planning my wedding…which then became our wedding…was going to be the photographer.  And it wasn’t just about the pictures – yes, it had to be someone who’s style matched my taste and someone who consistently takes beautiful photos.  But it also weighed heavily on the connection with the photographer.  This is the person, after all, you will share the most important day of your life with.  All the emotions of the day, the important moments and seemingly unimportant ones…you don’t want to put your trust in just anyone.

Shane and I spent time discussing and praying about it and now I’m just so excited to share who we asked to be our wedding photographer.  I’m sure you won’t be surprised…

We’re so honoured that Jasmine Star will be the one!  Her and JD will be making the trip from Orange County up to Vancouver to share in our day and document as Shane and I exchange our wedding vows.  We couldn’t imagine anyone else, especially after spending time with them in Laguna and getting in front of their cameras for our engagement shoot…

I remember the first impression I got of Jasmine – I stumbled upon her blog and in reading her then-current post titled The Hammock, I was smitten.  She wrote of her love – her husband – in a raw and real way and I was hooked on her…and then, oh my goodness, her images.

I remember the first time I met Jasmine, randomly in an empty conference room and wound up having lunch together.  Following that, she gave her presentation and I hung on to every word, trying to soak up her knowledge and inspiration.  When we hugged good bye I informed her that she was going to be my wedding photographer one day…and she replied with “we’re going to make that happen!”  Several months later I met my (soon-to-be) husband.  And now here we are…

…Here I am, dreams coming true as I get to marry my dream man.  And more than the friendship I have with Jasmine, Shane and I have connected with her and JD – this fun, power couple who stays grounded in God’s great love and grace and love and affection for one another.

We are in for such a treat!!  Thank you, Jasmine and JD…thank you, thank you.  So thrilled to see you guys again and share this exciting time with you!  xo!
