Global Morning News

Shane and his creative, detail-lavish proposal did it again…and this time, landed us on Global BC Morning News of all things.  We sat there in the green room – well, Shane sat and I paced – and tried to wrap our heads around the fact that our engagement had made the news, part laughing at the craziness of it and part totally nervous.  We were ushered into the studio, seated on the ‘red couch’ and mic’d up, surprised at how laid back the set was – there was Steve Darling at the desk and two other girls that came and went and then just us.  No camera men even.  I guess you could say it was a lot less intimidating than I was anticipating.  The only uncomfortable bit was the big flat screen sitting a few feet in front of us where we actually saw ourselves on TV as the interview took place.

All in all, it was such a fun opportunity.  Like someone had said, it’s pretty cool that we got to share something that means so much to us, with so many people.  Steve was absolutely great, like how he didn’t leave one second of hesitation hanging in the air when we were asked certain questions.  Shane and I walked out of that place a whole lot lighter than when we walked in…and then went promptly to a Starbucks for a celebratory breakfast :)  Watching the interview back home was a different story…we sat on the couch with pillows covering our faces, looking at each other like, “is that really how I sound??”  At least Shane didn’t pull any Ron Burgundy/Anchorman stunts!

For those who have been asking for a link and haven’t seen it….here it is…we’re at about the 18:20 mark.  I won’t be watching it again, but you can feel free to :)

PS – thank you to my ‘stylists’ – my sister for lending me the dress!  And to Kobie, my rock star hair dresser; the first thing she thought of when she heard I was going to be on TV, was “I wonder how her roots are?”  and got me in last minute and on a weekend!  Haha, I swear I’m not diva at all…but thanks ladies :)

After the interview, Steve informed us that he proposed to his wife by having her ARRESTED!!  How come that didn’t make the news?!

The left photo was taken with my iPhone, the right with my camera, post-interview…see the look of relief? ;)

i will watch the clip here in a bit. justin almost did what steve did. he was going to have an officer pull me over and then he was going to show up and propose to me. instead, as you know, he decided to do it during the bloodiest scene of ‘the patriot’. lol!! it’s better that he didn’t have me pulled over. i am so dreadfully afraid of being in trouble!! i probably would have told him no. haha.

oh, i am smiling from ear to ear!! that was so funny! the kids were watching it with me. (btw, emily says, “i love shane and mikaela…with mikaela’s curly long hair…i wanna be just like mikaela.” i swear she just said that!! that’s 5 yr olds for you!! :)) M you really didn’t sound super nervous. you both were just a little more reserved & quieter than in person. you’re so much more fun face to face. :) Shane, you sounded nervous! :) haha–sorry Shane!
