Just another day at the beach

Exotic birds of some kind sang outside my balcony door and told me it was morning. Time to get up, put on my swimsuit, grab my book (already wrapped up in The Glass Castle) and head outside to the “feels like” 40 degree heat, walk across the powder soft sand and claim our spot on the beach beneath the palm branches. After awhile we cooled our sticky hot skin in the water. A small school of fish darted past me, terrifying me for a moment until I laughed at myself and realized how pretty they were – almost a translucent white, lined by bright blue.

Later came lazing on the hammocks, and then came exploring just beyond the resort, down the beach where the crowds thinned considerably and the terrain became less groomed. Around a point where there lay an abandoned resort and what I felt was the perfect spot to take out my camera…again…

It has not stopped raining since you left…there were even snowflakes mixed in with the rain this morning. Enjoy the “feels like 40″ cuz here it just feels like winter.
